Insider’s Guide to Grapevine

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that’s no exception when it comes to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, where SOAR will be held July 5 through 7.

The resort boasts a spa and fitness center, as well as Paradise Springs waterpark and indoor and outdoor pools. Guests can also enjoy buffet-style dining at the Riverwalk Cantina for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or any time in between! The Old Hickory Steakhouse allows guests to enjoy their premium steaks, while Zeppole Italian Restaurant serves delicious, traditional Italian cuisine.

Opportunities for retail therapy are also available in the resort, with boutique stores like Amelia’s, necessity stores like the Lone Star Sundry, and jewelry stores like Carolyn Pollack Jewelry. Those who’d like to continue shopping after they’ve exhausted the stores in the Gaylord Texan can visit local shopping centers, such as the Grapevine Mills Mall, which is only a few minutes away.

The entire resort is Texas-themed, with an old west style. Inside the resort, there is the Lone Star Atrium, which includes 4.5 acres of indoor gardens, canyons, and even a replica of San Antonio’s Riverwalk and the Alamo.

Those who decide to venture outside the resort during downtime at SOAR will find many things to do in the Grapevine area! Six Flags is a SOAR attendee favorite, and the Dallas Zoo is a great place to explore wildlife from around the world. For groups filled of sports fans, tours can be scheduled for the world famous AT&T Stadium, which is the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Texas Rangers will also be playing during SOAR, so groups have the chance to catch a Major League Baseball game! In addition to these attractions, Medieval Times is a great place to take groups who would enjoy dinner and a show of jousting, sword fighting, and horsemanship.

All participants will need a quick resource to look up the many attractions that the Grapevine area has to offer. For immediate updates and relevant information about SOAR 2017 and the attractions in the surrounding area, download the SOAR Conference App. It’s free, and has everything an attendee will need to know.
